Art x Tech

Celebrating the union between art & tech!

A collection of interesting resources compiled for "I Can't Code," a student tech talk hosted by Developh Philippines.

Obfuscated C Code

Ah, yes.

The International Obfuscated C Code Contest. Home to the most terribly formatted yet undeniably ingenious C code there is.

How to teach programming (and other things)?

By Felienne Hermans

A very insightful talk on proven ways to teach programming, as well as a bit of code phenology.

The Art of Code

What is this page for?

Well, it's a bunch of resources thrown together for a student tech talk hosted by Developh Philippines, in which Irish Danielle Morales (aka Ase) talks a bit about teaching tech as a science and an art.

Here's the long, more formal description:

Do schools teach a passion for programming? Or do they take it away? In a journey of art, programming, and robotics, Ase paints a picture of the conventional classroom setting - one whose colors crash and contrast with its own supposed goals. By exploring how programming is both an art and a science, we examine why the typical introduction to programming can leave students with the impression that they "simply can't code", as well as how we should rethink technology education to encourage students to create rather than comply.

Developh

Developh

"Develop," not "develof."

Here's a short description of Developh from their website:
Developh is a global nonprofit investing in student-led innovation through computer science education and accelerator initiatives to bridge the technology divide.

They're really cool and they're making a difference! Go check 'em out :)

Lastly- me

Hi!

I'm Ase, full name Irish Danielle Morales. I do activism, digital art, robotics, and programming. I believe that art and technology are both tools of creation, and I hope to use these as platforms to inspire and incite change.

You've reached the end. Rest here, weary traveler.
